Very Important Notice for Clubs
PROJECT FUTSAL is a joint initiative between the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) and the Welsh Football Trust (WFT) with the overall aim of providing education and work opportunities for young people in disadvantaged areas and to influence and assist community regeneration via employment and volunteerism.
In Ireland, the project will feature education centres throughout the South Eastern seaboard of Ireland and will be coordinated by FAI staff. An academic year of adult education, personal development, football coaching education and work/volunteer placements will be offered to thirty participants from the local community at each centre.
Applications are open to males and females of 18 years and older and who have been out of formal education for two years. The main objectives are to increase a participant's employability and/or enhance their prospects of going onto further education. An extensive programme of football/futsal activity on each course will incentivise potential participants to participate in the project.
Participants may be entitled to financial supports and are advised to check with their local VEC office, Social Welfare office or Job Centre for further information. Applications for places on the first centre in Carlow are now open. To download the application form please click here.

Applications for further centres beginning in Ballymun, Dublin and in Waterford City will be open very soon. The project has been designed through the cooperation of the FAI and the WFT and is funded from the Ireland Wales Inter Reg IV Programme 2007-2013 under its theme for the Sustainable Regeneration of Communities.
