F.C. Carlow V Cork City on Fri Apr 03, 2009 11:40 am
The best of luck to all the Players management team as they start life in the A Championship. Great season in the under 20s, Hopefully they can do themselves proud once again this season. Its great for Carlow to have a league of Ireland side. Many other leagues would love to be in this position. So its important that everyone involved in the game in the Carlow League support the Team on Sunday against Cork City, lets show we care about our County side and turn out in big numbers in Ballon on Sunday at 3pm. Once again best wishes to all. Zico

I found my way out from Carlow Town to Ballon to watch the Boys play v Cork City today.
Well done to all involved both on and off the field.
1-1 v Cork City is a good result with Carlow having lots of the ball in the game and being well in the game.
I saw in the programme that Cobh are next out in "the Valley". I'll be there and so should you!!!!!!!

thanks for the support lads, its appreciated ... we were happy with the result, we feel that we are moving in the right direction ... it will be a long season, but if the lads keep improving as they have done over the last couple of years, we will be there or thereabouts ... BUT ... we do need local support, we now have a senior league of ireland team and if we are to be successful, we need the support of people in carlow ... our next game is against Cobh Ramblers in the EA Sports League Cup on Bank Holiday Monday 13th April at 3pm in The Valley, Ballon ... if you have any interest in soccer come out and have a look, im sure you will enjoy it

What a great start for the lads in their first LOI game.Probably disappointed that they did'nt win ,but when you put the result in perspective they have to be happy . Afterall this Cork team came second in their group in last seasons A Championship to eventual winners UCD and they won last seasons U20 League. So no mean feat to get a result against them.I thought the lads showed great spirit and belief to come back from a goal down.If they keep playing with this spirit the future looks bright for LOI football in Carlow. Looking forward to the next game against Cobh on Easter Monday and to the rest of the season. The best of luck to everyone involved with FC-Carlow, keep up the good work snd keep believing

Agree, great result for the lads. i thought they were pretty nervous the whole game, but who could blame them its unchartered territory. Hopefully they can build on this grow in-confidence and self belief, and play some good positive football.
Is Daragh available for Cobh?? Is Smithers far off recovery?

Firstly well done to all involved in Sundays match. The work done to get Burrin Celtic ground in shape and have the place looking realy well is a credit to everyone.
F.C. Carlow must be praised for the standard of football on the day, It was great to see a big crowd their to cheer on the lads. This side can go places provided they keep their feet on the ground. I have to say, they strike me as being a group of players who take the game seriously, and that is what will win over the public, If you were not able to see the game last week, well on Easter Monday they play Cobh Ramblers in the cup, so bring the kids to see what promises to be a cracker of a game. Best of luck lads. Zico

A great performance yesterday and a great win in what were brutal conditions. The whole team have to be congradulated. I have to agree with "jacko" that Daragh did make a huge difference when he came on, but to say that Carlow would not have won without him is a little unfair to the rest of the team.Again lads very well done and the best of luck against Tralee on Sunday .We'll be there to shout ye on.Lets hope the weather is better.
