well folks after reading the post by mascharano about the great seamus doran retiring it made me very sad indeed, as the league will be losing one of its most colourful and vocal players since "dublin" michael byrne... shamie was indeed a fine striker and stil has that old magic as he showed with his double against hanover two weeks ago... best of luck old friend but is it the end??? doubt it Wink
On the same subject i was in graig to watch a great game with new oak v st pats on sunday and couldnt belive what i seen, a face from the past i thought retired years ago trevor "webby" webbster!!! sweet jesus and the way he got tore apart by the evergreen sean "the cueball" kelly clearly he be retired... now webby im not having a dig, but you were def a great player in your day. but come on hang up your boots while you stil have a small bit of street cred left old friend lol! lol!

Laughing Laughing cheers

Maybe its time for alot of old timers to hang up the boots Butterbean, but in defense of Webster, he had damaged his Knee Legiments (Twist) in the first half in a challenge with Sheamus Farrell (Fair Challenge) and he never seemed the same after that, was on top and getting forward deep into the New Oak Half until then and playing well, but struggled badly after the injury and I bet looking back he should have came off straight away as he couldn't move comfortably, I was told this also in another exclusive interview Very Happy

But no shame in Sean Kelly getting the better of you, another veteran and very good player on his day with great close control.

Remember Veterans rule Very Happy

hi all.well after hearing about the possibility of one Mr.Doran retiring i am truly gobsmacked. I for one have had the privilage of being involved with the same club as shamie and if he does retire the carlow league will not be the same without him.The effort and commiment he has put into new oak is second to none.he is always the first one to have a laugh and a joke but when it comes to game time and training he is mr.serious.Shamie will always try help the younger players better themselves and encorage them to push themselves in training.if he does retire then new oak boys have lost a living legand.Well at least last year he got what he truly deserved(a league winners medal) and there is not too many people that would deny him that.(well mayb HADJIE).
If you do retire shamie id like to say thanks for all the wounderful years you have given not only to new oak but also to the carlow league.
